The first thing we must do is define what is most important to us in life and create a vision for what we wish to achieve, both in life and in business. Set your priorities based on this. Know what your personal values, goals, dreams, and principles are that guide you. We cannot start to organize our time and our days until we know what gives our life and business value and meaning.

We are many people in our lives - We are mothers, brothers, lovers, teachers, children, coaches, mentors, leaders, business-men, doctors, friends. Our many roles in life make it difficult to manage our time and be who we need to be to all people. We have to remember that we can't be everything to everyone at all times though we sometimes try. If we remind ourselves of what each of our roles are and how they contribute to our purpose and priorities in life, and what gives us meaning, then we may give ourselves a clearer picture of what we need to do and when. Also, if we see these roles as not being totally separate from each other, but intertwined with our life purpose, then we won't feel as overwhelmed by all the roles we have to play.

Next we need to set goals for ourselves, and as with each of these steps, they should be written down where they can be seen, where they can remind us of what we are trying to accomplish, and so that we can change them as things change in our lives. Goals should be specific and measurable so that we can monitor our progress. Our goals will relate to our roles, our priorities, and what gives our lives meaning.

We then need to decide in advance how we are going to make decisions that we are faced with during our days and weeks. If we don't have a plan of action when faced with unexpected situations where we have to decide how to spend our time, we often make hasty or rash decisions at the spur of the moment, and sometimes these will end up giving us more stress than we had in the first place. If we are always trying to make time for everything that comes up, we will end up with way more on our plates than we can possibly handle, which leads to feeling overwhelmed. We need to stay focused on what we are trying to achieve, and decide how we are going to decide things. Sometimes this means being more flexible in our planning, and knowing what our priorities are, but making them happen when we can fit them into our schedules rather than having a fixed schedule and trying to fit more and more in.

When we keep our priorities and life purpose in mind, we must also act with integrity - do what we say we are going to do, with the confidence to also be flexible in our planning. In the end we can evaluate how far we have come, and determine whether or not we reached our goals, and if not, why not. Reviewing our progress enables us to rework the plan that isn't working into something more effective and productive.

1.Look for a business that sells digital services online without having to touch any inventory yourself. People must want the product on it's own merit, not just the money

2.The product or service must be consumable in that it requires a monthly payment from the customer. That way, you'll guarantee yourself a monthly residual income for the sale you just made.

3.The vendor must pay you in several ways. These days a one-off commission is not good enough. Vendors can pay you for building a down line for them, pay you a one-off sign-up bonus, pay you a matrix residual income and more. The more ways you can earn, the longer the business will last..

Oops! Well, let's be more diplomatic. Let's just say you hired some "underachievers" you would have been better without.

Or maybe you have the curse of hiring only "average" employees - people who are average in productivity and average in producing profits.

Question: Who wants to hire "average" (or "below average") employees?

Answer: No one!

To hire the best, you need to avoid the problems that plagued your previous hiring decisions. So, let me reveal seven horrible hiring blunders or mistakes you may have made.

1st Horrible Mistake: = Interviewers typically do a lousy job at predicting job success.

This is a proven fact, verified by a lot of research. Statistically, most interviewers do
about as well as flipping a coin!

2nd Horrible Mistake = Reference checks fail to tell you what you really need to know.

Most employers are so freaked out about giving reference checks that they tell you nothing or barely anything useful about how an applicant performed on-the-job. Another way to put that is most reference checks are about as non-useful as simultaneously (a) flipping a coin while (b) rubbing a rabbit's foot!!

3rd Horrible Mistake: You relied on your "gut feel" or "intuition" & you were W-R-O-N-G.

Later, as you moaned about the mistake you made by hiring the wrong person, you asked yourself, "I knew what I was feeling. But, what was I thinking?"

4th Horrible Mistake: You used subjective prediction methods to make hiring decisions.

For example, you relied on subjective interviews, subjective reference checks, or subjective "impressions " of the applicant. Wow! Were you ever off-base. And then you and
your company needed to pay for your incorrect hiring decisions. That is expensive, time-consuming, and frustrating.

5th Horrible Mistake: You used NO objective AND customized prediction method.

Important: Research shows pre-employment tests are the most objective method to make predictions. But, make sure you use a test customized for specific jobs in your company!
If you have not used tests customized for specific jobs in your company, then you really have missed out on the most objective and customized prediction method you could use.

6th Horrible Mistake: You [stupidly] told the applicant what you were looking for!!

Then, lo-&-behold, the applicant spent your entire interview telling you s/he just happens to possess all the skills, talents and qualities you - stupidly - told the applicant you want in an employee. For example, let's say you - stupidly - told the applicant you need to hire an employee
who excels at teamwork, customer-service, and correctly handling small details. I bet I can predict what that applicant told you in the interview: The applicant told you - with a serious yet pleasant expression - that s/he excels at teamwork, customer-service, and correctly handling small details. And then, when you hired the person who gave you all the answers you - stupidly - told
the applicant you want, you pay the price of having an employee who may not REALLY be
talented at teamwork, customer-service, or handling small details. You got fooled - and you have only yourself to blame.

7th Horrible Mistake: You terribly harm any person you should not have hired.

Let's be humanistic about it. If you hire the wrong person, the applicant also loses. People crave to work in a job where they will do well and enjoy it. People hate a job where they will perform only average or below average, and not enjoy the work. So, you actually benefit the applicant you carefully evaluated using customized, objective hiring methods.

Summary: When you hire . . .
1. high-achieving "superstar" employees, both you and your company win.
2. underachieving employees, (a) you lose and (b) your company loses.

So, make sure you use customized and objective prediction methods,
like pre-employment tests, biodata and more,
to make sure you hire employees who are
(a) productive, (b) profitable, and© low turnover.

The second most common mistake in the poll was lack of knowledge about the company or position (22%).

The lesson: make your point, then leave it at that and wait for the interviewer to speak.

In an informal survey of hiring managers about mistakes people make during an interview, lack of eye contact turned out to be one of the biggest ones. It seems like a simple thing, but many people just seem to forget it or don't pay attention to it.

To the interviewer, lack of eye contact can signal a number of negative things: You're not telling the truth. Or you're being evasive. Or you're hiding something. I'm not advocating that you stare at the interviewer. Just maintain steady, engaged, eye contact when you or the interviewer are speaking.

- Poor body language
Interviewers are generally skilled observers. They are looking not only at what you say but how you say it, including your body language. Do not slouch. Crossing your arms in front of your chest sends out the wrong signal. Maintain good posture and try to keep your hands folded on your lap.

- Not researching the company
If you do not know some basic things about the company it shows you don't care enough and you're not thorough. When you know basic company information it shows an eagerness for the job and displays interest in the company. In addition, knowing some details about the company will enable you to ask better, more relevant questions, and make a stronger impression.

- Not having your papers and documentation ready
Remember to take along extra copies of your resume, names and contact information of your references and reference letters so you can leave them with your interviewer. If there are any other documents needed, make extra copies to bring along.

- Inappropriate dress
Know something about the industry and the corporate culture. In most cases the safest bet is to dress professionally and conservatively. But there are variations within that general rule. In some industries and companies that may mean being fairly formal, while in other industries less formality is the norm.

In the technology industry, the dress code may be more casual than in other iindustries, but it can also vary with the position. Sales may still be buttoned down. While being in IT may more casual. In creative type jobs a more casual dress is expected, but don't overdo it. Know your industry and what is appropriate.

- Asking questions at the wrong time
You may be tempted to jump in at various times in the interview with questions. Don't. Hold your questions till the end when the interviewer invites you to ask questions. Having said that, if during the interview a question seems to naturally evolve from the conversation, go ahead. But be careful about this. And don't ask about salary or benefits unless the interviewer brings it up.

People don't buy product features. They buy solutions to their own needs.

You have asked great questions and uncovered at least three important customer needs that your offerings can address, and you're ready to begin your product presentation. Know what you're going to do now? If you're like most salespeople, you're going to lose all of the momentum you've built—and maybe the sale, as well—by launching a long, boring, and standardized recitation of product features. Your sales presentation won't even focus directly on the key needs you took such pains to identify.

People don't buy product features. They buy solutions to their own needs.

Customers don't care about your product features or even about the benefits those features offer to the world at large. Customers care about one thing only: How can you help me solve problems or seize opportunities that matter to me?

What you need is a simple, structured method for product presentations that lets you stop rambling about features that may be irrelevant to this customer and start presenting solutions to specific needs instead—solutions that are crisp, clear, brief, and to the point.

There is such a method. It's called TFBR. Here is how it works.

T - Tie-Back: Tie the conversation back to a need you identified with your earlier questions:

"You told me earlier that you want to match the products that you stock with the unique needs of each region."

F - Feature: Describe a product feature that meets that need:

"Our regional purchases history reporting will show you exactly what the most popular products are in each region."

B - Benefit: Explain how that feature will serve this customer's specific need:

"What this means to you is that you will improve service to your customers while minimizing the inventory needed at each location."

R - Reaction: Ask for the customer's own view of how the benefit would serve the need. This confirms that you correctly understand the need. Also, importantly, it turns the product presentation into a dialogue with the customer instead of a monologue by you:

"How will this information help you improve your business?"

Cast each product feature or capability you present in the TFBR format. And present only features that represent solutions to needs you have already uncovered and agreed upon.

The TFBR method will shorten your product presentations dramatically and make them far more powerful. Why put your customers to sleep when you can instead engage them in a problem-solving dialogue that makes them very happy they agreed to meet with you?

In The Field:

The TFBR method isn't just for salespeople who meet clients face to face. The marketing professionals who support your company's sales efforts can use the TFBR format to help salespeople zero in on ways to present products as solutions that address key customer needs. Marketing people should think in terms of the TFBR process when communicating product information to the sales force and to customers.

In the sixth month, 28 of the 167 largest advertisers in the country came into the magazine all at once. And since these are the biggest advertisers, they don't take quarter pages and fractional ads, they take full pages and full color spreads. These 28 advertisers alone, were enough to double the sales over the previous year. The magazine went from number 15 in the industry to number one in just over a year.

Lesson learned: Market to your best buyers

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, who are my best buyers? If you sell to the business-to-consumer market, chances are, your best buyers live in the best neighborhoods.If you are a dentist, accountant, chiropractor, R.E. Broker, financial advisor, restaurant, or even a MLM professional you should consistently go after the folks who live in the best neighborhoods.

They are the wealthiest buyers who have the money and the greatest sphere of influence. If you send them an offer every single month without fail, within a year, you'll have a great reputation among the very wealthy.

If you sell to the business-to-business market, it's usually fairly clear that your best buyers are the biggest companies. So what are you doing, every other week, no matter what, to let these companies know who you are?

There's no one you can't get to as long as you constantly market to them, especially after they say they're not interested. People will not only begin to respect your perseverance, they will actually begin to feel obligated.

This doesn't happen right away, but even the most hard-bitten and cynical executive or prospect begins to respect you when you refuse to give up. The publication I mentioned earlier went on to double sales two more years in a row. They consistently marketed to the best buyers and much more aggressively than they did to the rest of the buyers.

A company selling to manufacturer's used this strategy to target the 100 biggest manufacturers in the country. For the first three months no one responded to any of the calling or phoning.

But after three months executives started saying: "I just have to meet you. I've never had anyone continue to call me so many times after I said no." Within 6 months they had gotten in to see 54% of those they targeted.

The secret is to NEVER give up.

Just keep going after those companies again and again. Or if you sell to consumers, commit to sending a promotional piece every single month to those wealthy neighborhoods. Eventually, all the wealthy people in your area will know exactly who you are.

Now the question is: Who are your DREAM prospects and how committed are you to getting them as clients?

Naphtha, the basic feedstock for all fiber intermediates, mirrored the movement of crude oil prices. They rose by 15% during 2006 in Asia and Europe. In Asia naphtha averaged US$582 a ton. This rise was clearly reflected in prices of olefins and aromatics which were occasionally in short supply. Prices of fiber intermediate raw material via ethylene, Paraxylene and propylene rose in tandem with energy prices. During the year prices of ethylene rose 24% and Paraxylene by 25%.

The significant rise in feedstock prices had an impact the downstream polyester intermediates in Asia but not in Europe. Prices in the polyester segment rose significantly. PTA prices rose 95. in Asia. MEG prices were up 3%. This led to changes in the polyester fibers and yarns segment. However, price rise was limited due to weak demand from consumers. PSF and PFY prices rose by 5% in Asia and by 3% in Europe.

They average US$1.24 a kg of PSF in Asia and Euro 1.45 a kg in Europe. The rise was significant in the third quarter of 2006 both in Europe and Asia. They touched a high of US$1.39 a kg in Asia and Euro 1.55 a kg in Europe in September 2006. However, as the year came to a close, PSF prices were ruling at US$1.31 a kg in Asia and Euro 1.53 in Europe.

I. Customer Service starts with your staff

Happy employees are happy to serve customers. Happy employees love their job, and it shows when they provide a service or product to your customers. Make sure that you provide a work environment that is positive and motivating, where employees’ needs are met and there is recognition for good work and demonstrating creativity, passion and commitment. Are you providing them with opportunities for self improvement or advancement? Do they enjoy working for you? How do they feel about their role within the business? What do they say and do on the job? The key is your sincerity.

II. Customer Service is getting to know them

Talk to your customers regularly. Have a set plan or diary system to contact them even if you have nothing to sell. Keep them informed verbally or by newsletters what is happening in the business, and about new products or improvements in existing products and about changes in your own staff. Tell them what is happening in the future. Treat them like dear friends, discuss and remember the things that are important to them, their family, hobbies etc. Remember important events of your key contacts, and congratulate them when you see something they may have done outside the work environment. Trust takes a long time to build and it is very easy to destroy. Make sure that each part of the relationship is conducted to the highest standard of integrity. Do you know that when you talk to them you are talking to the decision maker?

III. Customer Service is getting Feedback – and acting on it

In your regular calls to your customers ask them questions about your business, what they like or dislike. It can be done also by mail out, surveys or email. This information is vital if you are to build a reputation for being customer focused. Gather all this information together and create an action plan to do something about it. Discuss the results with your staff, and get their input to the process. Contact the customers who came up with the ideas so they can see that their constructive comments are taken seriously. Make sure the change or outcome is highlighted in your next customer newsletter. Make your company easy to do business with. Are you using the feedback to hone responses to any rejection or objection received by your sales staff?

IV. Customer Service is going the extra mile

Individual customers sometimes have special needs, and they like nothing better than a business which can deliver even the most difficult requests. Be a business where these are approached with a real “can do” attitude and potential problems are looked on as challenges which will be solved. From feedback see if you need to alter hours to meet a greater share of your customers needs. Are you able to “wow” your customers by under promising and over delivering? Can you recognize your customers easily? Do you call a few days later and ask him if everything is satisfactory? Do you have new customers who say they have been referred by someone else? Have you defined all the benefits of your product or service to the customer’s satisfaction?

V. Customer Service is having the best processes

Today’s customers are very sophisticated in how they want to do business. Shops used to be open 5 days a week with maybe one late night. Now customers expect to receive service 24/7. If your product or service lends itself to a greater range of purchasing options, go for it. See if it means telephone, text, email or Internet systems or processes to supply their needs. Does it mean extending hours of operation? This availability of service will make customers more likely to stay with you. Ask yourself whether there is some way you can make it even easier for your customers to do business with you. Be bold, innovative and challenging. But make sure you know if there is any extra cost involved, and whether you can recover that cost in part or full.

VI Customer Service is about keeping customers

Before you put in any sort of retention programme you must be fully aware of what each customer means to you. Do you know the value in $ each customer spends, and does your customer base follow the 80/20 rule. If 80% of your sales come from 20% of your customers, why not try a little more effort with the 80%? Do you know how many customers you have lost in the last 12 months? If so do you know why they stopped dealing with you? What have you done about it? What has been the effect on your bottom line? To answer each of these questions you need to have a very good tracking system, and it may be possible to tempt them back. Have you rectified the process, material, delivery, people or other issue that caused the loss of their business? Do you get your staff together on a regular basis to discuss these issues and seek suggestions for improvement? Do you implement those ideas? A good retention plan can be very effective if you search out the information and act on it.

2. Home and Family Life

You can be there for your family and work your schedule round their very demanding one! It might be young children, elderly parents or perhaps you keep animals. My two children are thankfully very healthy but even so, all children sometimes need to take a day off for various reasons. When I worked for someone else this used to give me stomach ulcers! When we settled in the UK and I discovered how many half-terms and Personal Development days there are I nearly had a nervous breakdown and that’s when I decided to look into working from home.

3. Be Your Own Boss.

The gratification of knowing that you are working hard for your self, not your boss is hard to beat. This is a huge factor in the decision to break free. Many single people don’t need to worry about fitting their schedule round family life but they have other requirements such as wanting to be able to make their own decisions like a grown up. 4. Wake Up When You Are Finished Sleeping!

You can start working when YOU are ready. I used to hate commuting with a passion. I mean really hate it. Now I have time to do a little exercise, perhaps read or meditate early in the morning. Then I walk my daughters to school and settle down with my green tea and laptop. No traffic jams and no stress.

5. Avoid the Nasty British Weather

This may sound silly but I love to avoid the bad weather… Come on let’s face it with the temperamental weather in the UK who wants to have to go out to work in all weathers? Not me anyhow. Unless I have a confirmed appointment I do my work from home on those rainy and windy days, saving my jaunts for the mild days.

6 Work From Home, Not Just At Home

The working at home element is fabulous, and the home-based element means you are allowed to go out and have fun doing your business! My idea of working out of the home these days is attending networking events on subjects of my choice to widen my circle of contacts, or if I’m doing some ‘real’ work I may attend a home business reception for one of my new team members where I sit down and watch a DVD! (Hard labour I think not!)

These days there are so many opportunities to partner with amazing companies with proven business systems, which enable one to be independent and flexible, but to have the training and support to avoid feeling isolated. This is an incredible benefit when you think how traditional businesses operate. Most new business owners need to be willing to go straight into heavy debt, hold stock, pay staff, premises costs and of course have accounts receivable to keep them up at night biting their nails.

The possibilities are endless with the internet and the leveraging of time. I have a mobile paper-free office and can do my business from anywhere. There are so many amazing new communication tools these days – just remember to turn the video camera off when you are working in your pyjamas or having a bad hair day! Imagine the possibilities of having a business that operates in different time zones and earns you money while you sleep.

10. Holidays!

Last but just as important! You can book your own holidays in your diary. You can run your own ‘flexi-time’ and work in the middle of the night, dusk or dawn if the fancy takes you and then take the day off in the sunshine (need to make the most of it when it appears!)
