Home Business Resource - What You Will Need To Start A Successful Business

Description:

Home business resources are assets, services and systems you will need to make your home business run smoothly. So, to start a successful home business, what resources and steps do you need to take?

Content:

Starting a home business is a very important decision, and there are some typical home business resources you will need to have in order for you to succeed. Home business resources are assets, services and systems you will need to make your home business run smoothly; and also other steps you will need to take to make sure that you will succeed with your business.

So, to start a successful home business, what resources and steps do you need to take?

· A clearly laid out business plan. Without a business plan and goals to achieve, then you can not get anywhere. A business plan will map out what you need to succeed and how you will achieve your goals.

· Good research. Whatever your business will need, you will need to be well informed about it. So you will need to do me research so that you become an expert on the niche, product or service. Knowledge about the business is an important home business resource, so you must do the necessary research to be well-informed about the industry or product/service.

· A well set-up office. Your office is another important home business resource. You will need to be productive while working from home. You will therefore need an office that has all you will need to run a smooth business; a computer, printer, internet access, fax, telephone, business cards and a conducive work environment. A suitable desk and appropriate lighting in your office is also an important resource that is often underestimated in its importance. You will sometimes work for many hours in a day, and your work space needs to be comfortable. Allocate some money towards setting up a working environment you will enjoy working from everyday!

· Some money to cover capital outlay and running costs is an important home business resource which you will need. Any business requires some form of investment, and you will need to know how much you have, and how much investments and ongoing marketing your business will need for it to succeed. It is therefore recommended that you start your business while you are still employed, so that you have some income to live on while you are still building your business.

· Support system. This can be a mentor; someone who has succeeded with a similar business, or simply your family and friends. You need to have people close to you who will encourage you and give you any support you need. You can also join a forum of people with the same business like yours. A good support network is a very important home business resource.

· Business leads and clients are a crucial home business resource. Making and creating contacts and networking is very important - you need to start building your potential clients base before you launch your business. Start marketing your business by giving away some products and services. By creating a relationship with your potential customers, you build trust with them, and when you launch your business, it will be easy for them to buy from you.

· Be professional! The way you run your business and relate to your customers is very important. Be prepared to ‘go the extra mile' with your customers. Care about your customers, and provide all the information they may need.

· Hire any professional help you may need. Treat your business professionally, and if you need the services of a lawyer or accountant, hire/outsource it. It is more productive and effective to get experts to do what you can not do, leaving you time to focus on your business. You will want to do the best for your business; so if there are any home business resources you do not have, outsource them.

If you have the home business resources outlined above, then your business will succeed. Although your home business may only be a small venture, treat it like a real business, and get all the home business resources any business will need in order to be successful.

So you Want to be a Substitute Teacher

Description:

So – you want to be a substitute teacher? Of all the jobs in education, substitute teaching is one of the most difficult and challenging.

Content:

So – you want to be a substitute teacher?

Of all the jobs in education, substitute teaching is one of the most difficult and challenging. On the other hand, unless you are a felon (or have gotten on the bad side of some school administrator), getting substitute teaching jobs is a simple matter – and these jobs offer far more variety and flexibility than any other job in education.

Regardless of whether you are seeking certificate substitute teaching or contract employment however, the credential process is the same. Substitute teachers must have an up-to-date certificate, and are subject to the same requirements. Substitute teachers must also take between 20 and 30 hours of continuing education every year in order to keep their certification.

These continuing education requirements can vary, depending on your state and when you earned your certificate. Generally, educational requirements for teachers are getting increasingly strict, cumbersome and expensive. In addition to a four-year degree from a accredited university or college, earning a teaching certificate requires 1-2 years of additional coursework in psychology, legal issues, and pedagogy. Many states now require that a teacher be endorsed in more than one area, and a few expect that one employed as a classroom teacher will earn a Master’s degree within a set time as well.

If you are considering a career as a substitute teacher, you should weigh the economics carefully. Substitute teaching is a great choice for those married to a professional with a good income, or a single person with few responsibilities. It is a good choice if you are pursuing an activity outside of education, such as music or theatre.

Keep in mind however that even if you are able to substitute teach every day, your yearly income is unlikely to exceed $18,000, and it will probably be less than that, since you will have sick days and no district guarantees any substitute a minimum number of days. If you are planning on having a family, remember that you will be graduating with an education debt of $25,000, which will eventually eat up $250 a month of your disposable income. Also remember that substitute teachers receive nothing in the way of health care benefits – not even paid sick leave.

Substitute teaching can be ideal for those who are married to someone with a good job or career or those who enjoy the gypsy life, or who have an additional source of income. To find out more about becoming a substitute teacher, the best place is to contact your state’s Office of Public Instruction or State School Board. These bureaucracies generally maintain websites that outline the specific requirements for obtaining licensure and certificate maintenance in order to substitute teach, as well as information of the various school districts.

Finding Ideas for Working at Home

Description:

Finding ideas for working at home can only be confusing if you allow it to be. To be able to avoid such confusion you have to set your decisions before embarking on such research.

Content:

Finding good ideas for working at home seems to be, at a first glance, the first challenge facing any potential internet marketer. I have some good news for you. This article will show you that:

1- This is not your first challenge; you have already overcome your first challenge, and you might not have even noticed it.
2- Finding ideas for working at home is a challenge only if you mixed up the searching priorities. This lies at the heart of this article.

If finding ideas for working at home is not the first challenge, then what is the first challenge? First of all the tense of this question is wrong! Since you are already trying to find ideas for working at home then you have overcome the first challenge.

The first challenge is to realize the fact that you need to establish a home based business. The fact that you are already searching for ideas means that you have already crossed this bridge. This realization is crucial.

Normally when the idea of establishing our own business crosses our minds, we get stuck with the details and obstacles of establishing a traditional business. Once we hit that obstacle we realize that the costs will burry us alive, and the thought becomes a fantasy that we will never be able to achieve.

Once we expand our horizons and realize that a traditional business is not the only way to establish our own business, the skies become the limit and we find ourselves in the midst of abundant alternatives.

With this realization the answer to the next question becomes easy. What is the alternative to a traditional business? Of course a traditional business is one where you need to rent an office, a shop, a warehouse or any other place were you business need to be conducted. Therefore, the alternative to that is to work at home.

Congratulations! You have said it, "I want to work at home." Just by thinking or saying these words you have overcome your first obstacle. This is the tricky part now. If you are not careful with the next steps you follow, you might end up with no business at all.

The words "I want to work at home" bring a lot of energy and excitement into a person's life and the following steps might not be well planned and therefore, the outcome will not be favorable at all.

Once you are struck with the idea, take a deep breath, sit down for a while, and then ask yourself the following questions:

1- Do I want to have a job working at home?
2- Do I want to establish a business working at home? If the answer is "yes" to this question then:
a. Do I want to sell my own product/service?
b. Do I want to sell other people's products and services?

Once you get the answers to these questions, then you can start with your search for ideas for working at home without being confused. If you do not make your decision before you start the search, the outcome of your search will be very confusing for you. You will be getting all sorts of ideas regarding all the above aspects and it will be very hard for you to make a sound decision.

We have discussed some differences between finding jobs working at home and finding a business idea working at home in another article. Therefore, we will not indulge in this discussion here.

In your search for finding ideas for working at home you have to be careful as there are a lot of empty claims and promises out there. The rule that you need to remember is; if it sounds too good to be true, then it most probably is too good to be true.

In this article we have tried to show you a systematic method that will enable you to find ideas for working at home that will enable you to avoid a possible confusion that might discourage you from continuing the journey.

Tips for a Successful Local Job Search

Description:

If you are seriously searching for a local job, but you have no idea where to look, you may be just one of the thousands of unemployed people in the country. However, finding a job is easy when you know where to search.

Content:

If you are seriously searching for a local job, but you have no idea where to look, you may be just one of the thousands of unemployed people in the country. However, finding a job is easy when you know where to search.

Where can you find employers? How can you find your desired local job?

Before anything else, you should determine your skills and abilities, update your resume and be ready to face the employment process. There are several options on where to find employment.

1) Job Center: Job centers provide numerous vacancies for different kinds of work. Majority of job centers update their employment board frequently.

Originally, these career centers cater to young jobseekers up to 21 years old. They arrange for appropriate job interviews, which they believe, would match your skills and abilities. Some job centers also process training vacancies and apprenticeships to young people. Today, these centers also cater adults need of employment.

2) Newspapers: Local and national newspapers, non-profit papers and job hunting newspapers provide advertisements on current job vacancies. You could find all the existing newspapers in libraries and check all the recent job postings.

Majority of newspapers today have their content available online. You could browse through them one by one and list all the jobs you prefer.

3) Journals and magazines: Every industry has their own periodicals, magazines or journals. Most employers go to these publications for employing professionals. Some could be bought in magazine stands and others come by subscription. Therefore, if you are hoping to establish your career based on your finished field of study, you could subscribe to a professional magazine and increase your local job prospects.

4) Agencies: Employment agencies handle most of vacant local work. Covering all kinds of work for various industries, these agencies are listed in local directories and Yellow pages.

5) Employer grounds: Many companies have job vacancies on their premises. Since these companies such as food retailers make use of internal notice boards, they do not advertise in newspapers and agencies. You could walk into these companies and ask the front desk for employment vacancies.

6) Internet: The most cost-effective way in finding local jobs is through the internet. Majority of employment agencies, newspapers, top companies, magazines and job centers have their own website. You could save time by searching through them one by one and apply for the job you prefer the most.

Making use of all these options could save you a lot of time searching for your desired local job. You could use all of these methods simultaneously to increase your chances of employment.

Researching the Significance of Intangible Assets of the Balance Sheet

Description:

Intangible assets become of particular importance in contemporary company valuation. The article presents an overview of the concepts behind intangible assets.

Content:

Intangible assets play a determining role when it comes to evaluation of the financial situation a company is facing. Starting 1980th, the proportion of intangible assets as part of a company’s market value has increased from 40% to 80% by the end of 1990th. In the global economy, intangible assets play an increasing important role, consequently, inability of financial statements to adequately report intangible assets on a company’s Balance Sheet results in a declining value of financial statements for users of financial information. This issue has been raised by many scholars in the recent trend of economy towards globalization and economic shift towards service industry. The present reporting principles fail to reveal the true financial situation of the company; consequently, the principles of prudent and objective information reporting are violated. This research aims to analyze the reasons for this violation as well as estimate the degree of violation of basic accounting principles by intangible assets reporting practice in different industries. The research also outlines the current practices adopted for intangible assets reporting.

Intangible assets refer to non-monetary identifiable assets of a company. The asset can be defined as a resource owned by an enterprise as a result of previous events that is controlled by the company and from which potential long-run benefits will be realized. Consequently, there are three critical points when it comes to speaking about intangible assets as identified by IAS 38.8: indentifiability, control, and economic benefits to be realized. Basically, intangible assets represent the gap between the book value and the market value of the company. While the book value consists of tangible assets, when a company is publicly traded, it is normally valued more then the book value. The resulting gap can be referred to as intangible assets owned by the company.

At the very basic level intangible assets are classified into identifiable and unidentifiable. An intangible asset is identifiable if it is separable or, in other words, can be resold, and arises from legal rights. Identifiable assets are further categorized by FASB into five major subcategories: marketing related (e.g. trademarks), customer related (e.g. customer rights), artistic related (e.g. copyrights), contract related (e.g. franchising), and technology related (e.g. patens and trade secrets). Thus, examples of identifiable assets include computer software, licenses, import quotas, customer and supplier relationship and can be acquired from various sources including self-creation or internal generation. Unidentifiable assets are represented by company’s’ reputation and include successful management techniques, talented workforce, etc. Unidentifiable intangible assets is what separates a company from its’ competitors in the market. Consequently, the key notion in reporting intangible assets is identifiability of an asset that is based on valuation of an asset under an assumption of an ability of stakeholders to separate an asset.
As previously stated, tangible assets are the major constitute of the book value of a company. Book value, in its turn, represents mainly a historic perspective on company’s value and ignores the notion of future performance. At the same time, intangible assets combined with tangible compromise the market value of the company that is based on company’s past performance, established reputation, trustworthiness, and a potential to realize profit in future.

Engineering As A Career

Description:

Engineering is a great career choice for many. With 1.4 million engineering jobs in the U.S. alone, it's no wonder this career field is a popular one. Let's take a look at a few reasons why engineering is such a hot and rewarding career.

Content:

Engineering is a great career choice for many. With 1.4 million engineering jobs in the U.S. alone, it's no wonder this career field is a popular one. Let's take a look at a few reasons why engineering is such a hot and rewarding career.

Challenging Work

Engineers get to combine their creativity, mathematics and science background with technology in order to help solve everyday problems. They get to work on the design and development of new products, help with their production, monitoring, maintenance and testing.

In alphabetical order, the main engineering specializations are: aerospace, agricultural, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, environmental, health and safety, industrial, marine, materials, mechanical, mining and geological, nuclear and petroleum.

Career Tidbits

The following list includes some interesting information about this career field according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook:

- Engineers generally work 40 hours per week, but the workload may increase under tight deadlines. Daily engineering tasks often involve work outside the desk space including lab research, field work, exploration and construction sites, monitoring stations and more.

- Engineers need to continue their educations to keep on top of the latest research and technological changes. Some companies offer funding for this. Not staying on top of the changes can mean the difference between maintaining employment and being laid off.

- The Internet has opened the doors for telecommuters (who may often come aboard for less money via long-distance arrangements), but local engineers are still in demand. Engineers often work on-site teaming up with others and their support staff.

- In 2004, engineers with higher degrees (Master's and PhD's) earned more. And for specialty engineers, workers earned well into the 6-figure ranges.

- Rapid growth in the technology sector means companies must seek the means to stay ahead of competitors with product and technology development, testing, and monitoring. Therefore, engineers are in demand and will be for some time to come.

The Best Time to Make a Career Change to your Dream Job is 20 Years Ago and Today

Description:

If you don't jump out of bed every work day eager to do some work, it's time to for a career change. A dream job will do the trick. The good news is that it is never too late to pursue a dream job or unique vocation.

Content:

It's time to make a dramatic career change to your dream job! If you don't jump out of bed every work day when the alarm goes off eager to do some work, you are likely not all that enthusiastic about your job.

Perhaps you complain, roll over, and contemplate whether you can get away with calling in sick for the third time this month. In this case, it is quite clear that you need to find something more challenging and satisfying. A dream job will do the trick.

Here's the bottom line: The best time to pursue your dream career is twenty years ago and today!

You don't necessarily have to move on today. Indeed, it is wise not to jump straight into something immediately. But today is the day that you should start taking steps to discover your dream job.

Business Week magazine recently surveyed 500 American business executives about their job satisfaction. Surprisingly, almost three-quarters (72 percent) were not in their dream jobs.

The first question is: What would executives rather be doing? Many, in fact, named creative professions when asked about their fantasy careers.

Top Ten Dream Career Choices of Business Executives

    1. Entertainment manager or events producer

    2. Winemaker or brewmaster

    3, Chef

    4. Restaurateur

    5, Pilot

    6. Golf pro

    7. Professional athlete

    8. Rock star

    9. Neurosurgeon

    10. Bed-and-breakfast-inn owner/operator

The second question is: Why don't more executives move on to something better if they are not in their dream careers? Clearly, most executives are trapped in the corporate system and don't have the guts to do something different.

Yet many ordinary people with fewer skills and financial resources than corporate executives have managed to leave corporate life to pursue dream careers. These ordinary people have become happier, wealthier, freer, and more satisfied in their lives.

One reason why so many individuals end up in distasteful work is that too many get caught up on the money side of careers. They see it as a choice between "love the work you do in poverty" or "hate the work you do in abundance."

Sadly, most people believe that you can't have your cake and eat it too. Some of us know otherwise we have gotten ourselves two cakes. This way, we get to keep our cake and eat it, too.

Put another way, we have discovered work that we love. Better still, we manage to earn a decent living. Indeed, many of us earn a better living than 90 percent of corporate workers who hate their jobs.

Above all, ensure that you end up working at something that you love instead of working just for the money. Working at something just for the money is something fearful people do. It is a sign of their lack of self-confidence in their ability, talent, and creativity to earn money doing something they enjoy.

Truth be known, a typical corporate job is a goal much too small for millions of creative individuals in this world. Indeed, if you are not just a dreamer but also a doer a dream career does not have to be an unattainable fantasy.

Chicago advertising executive Robert Cochrane warned Carl Laemmle with these words: "Don't be a salary slave! If you are going to do anything in this world, you must start before you are forty, before your period of initiative has ended. Do it now!"

In short, it's seldom too late to discover and pursue a dream job or unique vocation. But it is better to make that career change to your dream job sooner than later.

How to Beat Out the Competition . . . An Alternative Job Success Strategy!

Description:

If you want to be on track for superstar status, you have to be prepared to take on the biggest and riskiest projects.

Content:

Let's face it. We live in a world of competition! Any alternative job success strategy worth its salt has to take that into account. If you're bent on success in your work, you have to be realistic about competition.

So, what's an alternative job success strategy?

Well, you already probably know that the alternative job search and non-traditional career advancement movement is dedicated to finding innovative alternative ways to accomplish career goals. These inventive strategies bypass old-fashioned ways of handling career and job search issues.

You know, like building your success case based on what you used to do for someone else. Like the way you represent yourself in a traditional resume. Handling competition on the job requires an alternative job success strategy as well.

You see, the more competitive the field you're in, the harder it is to overtake the competition and achieve your goal. The facts of life are that, once you get there, the next hurdle is holding your position and keeping the competition at bay.

To get to that special place you better be in top shape. The means being the smartest, toughest and strongest (physically and mentally). You also need to persistent, confident and truly believe in your talents--even when everything seems to be going wrong.

Depending on your earning power and level of responsibility, you're probably expected to achieve astonishing results. At the same time, you're more vulnerable and open to intense scrutiny. Your supporters are cheering you on while your competitors are watching and waiting for you to screw up.

Here's what an alternative job success strategy looks like.

If you want to be on track for superstar status, you have to be prepared to take on the biggest and riskiest projects. You also have to be prepared to fail. But if you can survive, you've put together the fundamental principles of an alternative job success strategy and a non-traditional career advancement process.

If you're not teh kind of person who doesn't want to play the job success game, then you're better off adopting a success strategy that puts you in a quiet and adequately paying job where you're barely visible and not a target for anyone who wants your job. Doing this the right way is a measure of success as well, depending on your long-term career goals.

Part of any alternative job success strategy is knowing who you are and being satisfied that you've chosen the correct career path success plan that's consistent with the kind of person you are.

So, whether you're a hard-charging competitor whose willing and able to take significant risks . . . or you're an average, committed employee who enjoys his/her job without any of the competitive worries . . . you can reassure yourself that you have a success strategy that works for you!

Types of Residual Income You Will Be Interested In

Description:

Why not be paid a lifetime for a single sale, then get paid only once for each sale? The earlier describes the fantastic nature of residual income.

Content:

Most of us imagine working 40 or so hours a week, and then earning a paycheck for that work. That is, in fact, how many people support themselves year after year. But did you know that it's possible to continue earning income-even after you stop working?

If you're looking for the ability to continue earning-day after day, or week after week-after just working once, you might want to consider some different forms of residual income.

Also known as passive income, residual income is money you earn for one single, initial effort. This allows you to continue generating income, and possibly increase your earnings, with little or no work on your part over time.

One example of residual income is a book author. After making the initial effort to write and publish the book, the author continues to receive income on that product in the form of royalties. So although the bulk of the work-writing the book-is finished and will never need to be repeated again, the income continues to flow. Actors and musicians are another example, because they earn royalties on their movies or music.

Another example of residual income is someone who owns real estate. In fact, if you're a homeowner, you're already generating residual income, although you may not actually be earning any money at the moment. That's because, for the most part, real estate increases in value. Since the value of your home will increase over time, you will have "earned" money during the time you owned it.

You can earn residual income through real estate in other ways, too. For example, you can purchase a building, house or apartment and then rent it or lease it. Your income will be the rent payments you receive on a regular basis.

Even a basic savings or investment account can be considered a form of residual income, since you earn money over time on an initial deposit.

Sales is one of the most common places folks earn residual income, especially if they're part of a direct sales program that allows them to bring in new sales agents underneath them. Many famous direct sales companies give you a portion of the profits from sales agents if you recruit them, and if you take on a "managerial" or advisory.

Affiliate programs are another way many people, especially those who are web savvy, tend to earn passive income. By establishing themselves as affiliates of other companies, such as retail websites or Internet companies, they earn a portion of the profits or a flat rate for referring customers and clients. Many webmasters simply post a link or ad on their site to generate this extra income.

With a little ingenuity and creativity, also anyone can begin generating residual income. Just choose a method that best suits your personality and resources to ensure your success.

Winning Big or Indentured Servitude? Don't Set Sail Alone

Description:

In the highly competitive world of the music industry, it is never wise to sail alone. American Idol, Nashville Star and other reality based shows may not be the best route for aspiring stars.

Content:

In the highly competitive world of the music industry, it is never wise to sail alone. Equipping yourself with the necessary tools can ensure safe passage through the often rough and shark infested waters of the music business, and lead the aspiring musician straight to musical success. Putting on a show is important; learning the business is imperative.

Most artists concentrate solely on the creative aspects of their career and typically are unaware and/or unprepared for the business and marketing side of the music industry. When aspiring musicians put their careers in the hands of others, it's essential that they know the business before jumping headfirst into shows like American Idol.

While winning big is the main goal for everyone who auditions for these types of shows, do the contestants really win big? Or are they pushed into contracts that basically equate to indentured servitude and a total loss of both their creative freedom and control of their music career in exchange for stardom?

With dreams of sugar plums in their heads...actually large contracts, tours that span the globe, adulation of the world and screaming fans ringing in their ears, these music hopefuls sign away their lives and often their careers with stiff contracts that are not in their favor.

It's has often been said that unless we learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. Aspiring hopefuls need to learn from those who have already been there. A few of the legendary bands they can learn from are: It's a Beautiful Day, Joe Cocker, The Dixie Chicks and TLC. Each of these bands has learned the hard way what happens when you give up control of your career without knowing the business side.

As stated, although dreams of stardom loom through the minds of contestant hopefuls, who is still around from the American Idol or Nashville Star winners? Kelly Clarkson is the only real winner in music.

So how do you learn the business and avoid being taken advantage of? You need to learn from others who have been right where you are. From mentors, books and careful guidance. Jaci Rae's The Indie Guide to Music, Marketing and Money has helped start and keep many artists dreams alive.

This book will provide the struggling artist with everything they need to pilot and navigate their own course towards musical victory without American Idol, Nashville Star or other reality based shows. Take if from an insider who knows; learn the business before you put on a show.

How To Become A Radio Personality

Content:

Has someone told you that you have a voice for radio? Do you like to meet people? Are you willing to learn and put your ego aside? Then you might have what it takes to break into the radio business.

I feel like it's important that you know who's writing this article, because there are many people who claim they know how to get into the radio business, but have never worked in the industry. I started off at a small AM/FM combo radio station in Ithaca, NY in 2003. I was going to Ithaca College at the time and wanted to do anything I could to get my start in my dream of being on the radio. I literally fetched people coffee, but I also got to announce the weather on the AM station, and that was the beginning to a great career! Since then, I've worked in 9 states as a Morning Radio Host for stations from Memphis to Hartford, CT.

If you have a passion for radio and you've got the heart and determination to be an on-air announcer, that's a good start. Most radio program directors (those that hire announcers) like people who are willing and eager and display a true love for the art of radio.

Are you still here? Do you want to take the next step? Here are some suggestions on what you can do now (I'll describe them more fully after this list).

1.) Make a Demo Tape.
2.) Set up an interview with a program director.
3.) Be persistent, but not annoying.
4.) Take any job at a radio station you can get.
5.) Don't take "no" for an answer.

Making a Demo tape is an important step. When you contact a program director, the first question they'll ask is, "Do you have am MP3, a tape or CD Sample." To make your sample, I suggest getting in touch with a radio station in your area and asking them if you can get a tour of the radio station. Then once you're at the station, ask if you would be able to make a demo tape. You'd be surprised to find how many radio people are willing to help you out. If you can't get into a professional studio, then record yourself on an MP3 player and submit it to a Program Director. As far as what you say on your demo. You might want to transcribe your favorite radio personality as a guide.

The next thing you'll want to accomplish is to talk with a program director. Be persistant, but not overly persistant. I suggest sending an email, since they can respond to you on their time. Talk about your love for radio and that you'd like to help out the radio station in anyway you can.

Once you have your demo tape, it's time to send it to area program directors for your first chance to be on-air. Remember that each Radio Programmer is looking for specific types of voices for their radio station. Don't be upset if you don't get a callback right away or if they don't think you'll fit the station. If you send out 100 CDs or MP3 samples, your chances are good that someone will think you have what it takes. So don't give up.

There are many people who say they'd like to become a radio announcer, but never pursue their dream. If you love radio enough and want it bad enough, I know that you'll be a great success, and I look forward to hearing you on my radio soon.

How to Make $5,000 Next Week Using Joint Ventures

Description:

We have been conditioned to believe that it takes a long time, a lot of money and a lot of work to make money. Joint Ventures is the ultimate leverage - no risk, no cost, unlimited potential, FAST. If you know how.

Content:

Wow! That's some claim. Well, if you can identify with the Tuna Sandwich article below this article, perhaps you would like to change the way you think about making money - fast. See, we don't have money problems - we have thinking problems. When we change the way we look at things, we suddenly realize that perception is reality, and that we choose our perception.

We have been conditioned to believe that it takes a long time, a lot of money and a lot of work to make money. We're warned about the "Quick Buck" or "Fast Buck" mentality. Our conditioning usually comes from people who don't have a lot of money, and who are seriously jealous of those ho do. They accuse successful business people of being "sleazy" and dishonest, because they don't understand that one can legitimately make serious money in a short period of time without being dishonest, if you know how.
Joint Ventures is the ultimate leverage - no risk, no cost, unlimited potential, FAST. If you know how. Let's take a very simple example: You find someone who will pay you $300 per buying referral. That might be selling a seminar, a course, a product, whatever. It doesn't matter. The larger the percentage of the public that can use or benefit from it, the better, obviously. Now you go out and find people who have access to large databases of people who know and trust them, usually authors, businesses and professionals. Offer them $100 per sale and get them to advertise the product or service to their people via e mail, newsletters, flyers, notices, phone calls, whatever.

If you approach enough people with any well presented, well packaged, well priced product or service, a certain percentage will buy. It's a numbers game. And the more proficient you are, the great the ratios. If the owner of the database has a good relationship with his people, customers, etc., more will buy. If the product / service is well presented and packaged and perceived to be very valuable, more will buy. You can add massive bonuses and premiums at no cost to you, as well, if you know how.
By approaching enough people, 25 will buy, earning you $200 each, = $5,000. This is a lot simpler than it seems and can be set up quickly and efficiently, if you know how. And the process can be duplicated and leveraged and it's ultimately scalable. Anyone can do this. Want to know how? Read the Biography for more tools.

Revealed! Why You Should Set Huge Goals For Your Business

Description:

One skill you need to master to be a professional internet marketer is the ability to think really big. Think "huge" and you will achieve "huge" results.

Content:

One skill you need to master to be a professional internet marketer is the ability to think really big. Think "huge" and you will achieve "huge" results.

When I started my first internet business, even though I had never done it before and had no idea how to do it, my goal was to eventually make a million dollars a month income. At the time I was waiting tables.

One of my friends, a construction worker at the time, started the same internet business I did at the same time, selling the exact same products and services.

His goal was to sell enough products so that he could order his own products to use for free and in the end maybe pocket fifty dollars a month positive cash flow. Needless to say he actually quit the internet/network marketing business only three months into it.

He thought it would be easy, wasn't getting anything for free, and he was not making fifty bucks a month. He was going $300 dollars a month in debt trying to market the business.

He is back working sixty hours a week, stopped trying any outside business ventures, and is telling everyone he knows about what a scam network marketing is. While he was doing all this I grew several successful internet and network marketing businesses.

We both started with the same resources, money, knowledge, experience, etc. The only difference between the two of us is our mindset and my ability to think big even when I do not see a clear path to my goal or immediate results.

I also know the importance of writing out a clear, specific goal for my business and to spend time reading it out loud to myself everyday, this helps keep me in line, take action, and it helps reassure me that big things are possible.

He set a specific goal, a tiny one, but he did not write it down or focus on it, he merely wished it. That won't make anything happen, even making fifty bucks a month.

Honestly what business owner aspires to make fifty bucks a month? I love my friend , but he needs a serious head check. His attitude will keep him right where he is, working week to week for a small paycheck.

Most people will tell you to keep your goals in line with what you can achieve and make them small enough that they are realistic for you. That is B.S. When you come up with a goal, make it so big it would blow your mind if you achieved it.

If you examined most people and their goals you would find that they have achieved their goals, but their aspirations are so tiny they live in mediocrity. Successful entrepreneurs and business owners are not meant for mediocrity.

Professional marketers know how to see a huge reward that action, faith, persistence, patience and vision can bring about. They are able to challenge themselves and set and achieve their goals time and time again with each business they start.

An Introduction to the Balanced Scorecard Management Framework

Description:

ActiveStrategy explains the importance and functions of the balanced scorecard within all types of organizations to improve productivity and performance.

Content:

The Balanced Scorecard – Origins in Total Quality Management

In the late 1980s, vast numbers of companies were rapidly adopting Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, yet many of these organizations found themselves struggling to tie TQM to their bottom-line results, because TQM efforts tended to focus on isolated improvement projects that too often were not directly linked to strategic goals.

Kaplan & Norton Studied Leading Organizations

Recognizing this problem, Doctors Robert S. Kaplan and David Norton studied many organizations that were overcoming this problem and successfully creating this strategic linkage to improvement. From these studies, The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept was born and described in a 1992 Harvard Business Review article and in subsequent books by Doctors Kaplan and Norton.

What is a Balanced Scorecard?

The Balanced Scorecard approach suggests that companies examine performance across a wide range of “balanced” indicators, rather than the more typical approach wherein executive management teams focus almost exclusively on high-level financial outcomes. This helps a company focus on broader aspects of its strategy and mission by exposing the causal relationships amongst all of an organization’s key “stakeholders,” which includes not only its financial stakeholders, but also its customers, employees, and other constituents.

Perspectives on Performance

A company’s critical stakeholders and most important strategic focus areas are represented on Balanced Scorecards within what are called perspectives. These groupings should show the cause and effect relationships between the company’s selected focus areas. Using the perspectives described by Kaplan and Norton, this would mean a Balanced Scorecard would be organized with the “Financial” perspective at the top, followed by the “Customer perspective,” then “Internal Processes,” and finally “Learning and Growth.”

Tailoring Perspectives to Other Organization Types

The Kaplan and Norton perspectives work well in for-profit companies since the fiscal outcomes are shown as most important. Other types of organizations, including not-for-profit associations, governmental organizations, and healthcare systems often select additional or alternative perspectives to more appropriately represent their mission. For example, “Clinical Outcomes” is a common top-level perspective among hospitals, whereas “Constituent Satisfaction” is a helpful perspective for many gove.

Objectives – What You Want to Achieve

Grouped under each perspective should be an organization's “critical few” objectives – ideally no more than 10 of the organization’s most important organizational goals. These should be written in short, verb-noun format (e.g., “Increase sales of core products”) and should reflect the current year’s strategic plan. Objectives should articulate the business needs of the organization, so it is critical to determine these before proceeding to the measures. Too many organizations jump straight to the measures without first framing the objectives, which can lead to measures that do not adequately address strategic opportunities.

Measures – Your Basis for Achievement

The next step is to identify measures that will best determine if the business is on track to achieve each objective. These are also called KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) or metrics. As with objectives, focus is key. Each objective should have at most three measures attached. These measures should be the best indicators of achievement for that strategic goal. Careful consideration should go into measure selection to ensure that the desired behaviors will be encouraged by each measure and that they will indeed indicate whether strategic needs are being met.

Stoplight Indicators – Are You On Track?

After selecting the most important measures, it’s critical to set performance goals or targets so that the measure owner and management will understand expectations. Based upon these goals, certain thresholds may be set, which will trigger a visual performance indicator to appear (most often a red, yellow, or green arrow). These allow the measure owner and others viewing the scorecard to quickly spot problem areas that require additional focus or resources.

Initiatives – Projects that Address Performance Gaps

Finally, an organization should identify initiatives that will address critical areas of underperformance. Initiatives are time-specific improvement projects (with identified start- and end-dates) that are aligned to strategic, yet underperforming measures or objectives. A quick look at the red and yellow stoplight indicators on a scorecard often provides a good first step for assigning new initiatives or for evaluating priorities for stretched improvement resources. Close attention should be paid to initiatives, since these should help close the gaps on your Balanced Scorecard (and turn yellow stoplight indicators into greens). If this is not happening, initiatives should be reevaluated to ensure they are addressing the root cause of the performance gap.

Key to Success: Creating a Balanced Scorecard Framework

A Balanced Scorecard should be thought of as more than a single scorecard; to get real business benefits, it must be deployed as a framework of linked, aligned scorecards that are tailored to each area of the company. A cascaded scorecard framework allows the organization to communicate its strategy from the top down, aligning employees throughout the business to specific, measurable actions that each contribute to the strategy.

Cascading Scorecards

To cascade scorecards down and across various business units, functional areas, and management groups, you must translate the objectives (the verb-noun goal statements) and the measures (indicators of achievement), making them relevant to that area’s business processes and outputs, while maintaining alignment to the strategic objective one level up. This type of linkage and alignment is what makes the Balanced Scorecard so powerful. When done correctly, organizations create a predictive, actionable performance framework that truly drives success. Expect that this will take some time and significant effort. Many large organizations cascade scorecards just one or two management levels at a time.

Getting a Scorecard Framework Started

To jump start the development of a Balanced Scorecard management system, it is often beneficial to select a qualified consulting vendor. This can be especially helpful for companies just learning about the concepts, so a solid foundation and understanding of cascading techniques and best practices may be developed. Executive and management coaching can also greatly help an organization’s leadership understand how to manage via the Balanced Scorecard.

Managing the Framework Long Term with Balanced Scorecard Software

To be successful, a Balanced Scorecard framework must be gradually integrated into existing business processes, such as strategic planning cycles, budgeting processes, and monthly business reviews. Organizations that are most successful at this full integration find that automating a Balanced Scorecard framework using software is essential to achieving long-term buy-in and focus.

Balanced Scorecard software helps ensure that content stays up-to-date and is reviewed regularly. It also makes the cause and effect linkages between layers of objectives and measures clear and dynamic, allowing users to click through levels of cascaded scorecards to get to root causes quickly and easily – before they’ve blossomed into high-level catastrophes. When properly deployed and with ongoing executive support, a Balanced Scorecard framework, automated in software effectively changes the way an organization behaves and thinks about performance by driving new levels of accountability, alignment, communication, and – undoubtedly – better business results.

Best Tips To Safe Indoor Tanning

Description:

The process of self tanning is the answer to sun tanning, which you believe is the possible reason for skin cancer. The relationship between cancer and sun tan is more or less proved by the research scientists now.

Content:

The process of self tanning is the answer to sun tanning, which you believe is the possible reason for skin cancer. The relationship between cancer and sun tan is more or less proved by the research scientists now.

One of the "safest" methods is airbrush tanning. This is the process that employs an air compressor and airbrush delivery system to apply the tanning solution to the skin, to whichever area you wish.

What is the positive side of this natural tan system? It is easy and even in application. The absorption is quick, streak-free. We have blamed the sun enough for your hard labors in sun tanning, when you were ignorant about these self tanning exercises. Burning, premature aging, and master of all skin diseases, the dreaded skin cancer!

There is nothing to be afraid about this natural tan, codenamed DHA. It is our old friend, sugarcane juice! Its reaction is just superficial. I mean it causes a natural reaction on the top layer of your skin, to produce a beautiful tan. Sugar can cause you diabetes, but not this process- no damage to the skin, whatsoever!

Krome Aerosol Spray Tanning: This is also a side-effects free, superior solution. It is very convenient to use as well. It is a hand-spray bottle. You can carry it along with you.

You need to follow certain guidelines, before you start with your self-service tanning procedure:

1. Before using the airbrushing application, remain free from the application of lotions and perfumes.

2. Shake the can thoroughly, before each application.

3. Even and thorough application is a must.

4. Allow for a deep and penetrating tan. Do not take bath for 6 to 8 hours after the tan.

5. If it is your first attempt, do it again on the second day for the tan to be effective.

6. Always wipe the bottoms of your feet after airbrushing.

7. Maintain a cool body temperature before spraying.

8. Take care to select your product for self tanning. Quick results are nice, but if they were to cause permanent damage to your skin, you will feel discouraged. This type of tanning is supposed to check the aging process of the skin.

If the ingredients of the solution are natural, it is reasonable to assume that they are safe. Tan only when it is necessary and if you think it suits you. Your natural complexion of the skin might be better than any tan. Have a moderate approach to tan.
